Ear training for chord progression

Featured Replies

hi all,

Among many aspects of aural skills, recognizing chord progression is my main problem. specially in more complex homophonic textures or worse, in polyphonies, it could becomes almost impossible for me to follow chords.

I wonder if there exists a method for ear training which could help me to develop this skill.

thank you

Yes, learn the easy ones first. II V I

IV

VI/vi

Don't worry about inversions just yet. But get to know each note/scale relationship well. ;)

Without inversions, listen for the bass.

Practice.

That's the way to do it at first.
