Top Gun theme arranged for large orchestra

I wrote this arrangement as an orchestration exercise.

I used Sibelius 6 to write the score, then I used EWQLSO Gold XP Pro to render the version you hear.

Man, it takes a lot of time to put all the thing together!

I assume that your avatar is from a few years ago when you where much younger since the picture on youtube shows a much older person.

While this piece that you have presented has nothing wrong with it, I liked Paranoid Android better. It just seems mixed a little better(even though it doas have some clipping).

The MJ piece is great.

We here in Incidental music try to critique each others music as much as possible, so it always helps to listen and comment in the other threads here to get the other members to comment on your works.

Thanks for the comment. Indeed, the Paranoid piece was rendered with an outdated EWQLSO sampler, and at that time I didn't know how to use the articulations very well, I used less than 20, and it sounds too artificial to me today. In comparison, the Top Gun one had the EWQLSO with the expansion, and I used more than 30 articulations to render the music, what is a jump. Interesting to read that you liked the old one better, I guess I'll get back and listen to it again.

Oh that's a long history. I made that to a thread on another forum (Mike Portnoy forums, to be precise), and it shaked everything out there. Although there are key clashes, it became surprisingly popular.
