I guess it should be ave maris stella?

That's correct. sorry

I do quite like this. It's sort of an extended Bruckner-style motet with some very cool harmonies. One thing you might watch out for is the melodic nature of the vocal lines. There are some places where it would be more melodically intuitive for the singers (and more timbrally interesting for the audience) to have the voices cross and exchange lines.

However, your score's a mess. All dynamic markings in choral scores should go over the staff - this will keep your words and hairpins from colliding with things.

I like your peice. However, it doesn't seem to "go anywhere" - at least not very much. I would also say that there are not very many places in the peice where it comes to a pure chord - that is one with no dissonance. While dissonace is good, at least I feel that there should be contrasting points also in the song. Other than that, really nice peice. Keep it coming!

Interesting ideas, I have to agree with what some above said, it doesn't quite seem to have any movement at all at times. I also noticed a few parts in the piece where you brought new material in - never to be heard from again. A good example is measure 45. I think with some good polishing though this piece has excellent potential. Keep up the good work.

I would love to hear this after Holy Mass.

I hope to premiere the "Ave Maris Stella" on May 2010. Then I'll have a mp3 live recording.

I've just updated this choral composition. I've tried to improve melodic lines between voices and extensions.
