Modern Fantasia In C Major

Featured Replies

I really think you should bring in the polyphony earlier. The first 10 bars work very nice as an introduction, but after that it just feels thin. The recapitulation of the first theme in bar 35 could use some polishing in my opinion, and the part before the end would be more intresting with just a tad more independence between the voices.

Lots of potential in the piece though.

hi,

really didn't like it, sorry.

it still felt really imature for me.

some sections worked well, oh and i couldn't see any polyphonic texture.

some sections didn't, i didn't like the sections where it looked like you had copied and pasted the bars to make them look exactly the same in each clef, which at first i thought was clever, but, it doesn't work.

the whole section in one hand, was dull. don't mean to be harsh but it was. the harmonies, other than those decribed above were basic and predictable.

perhaps you could try making it a bit more difficult?

i liked the opening. with that two/four bar, couldn't you make itfour staccato crochets in a four/four bar, could act like a written out ritardando.

some great promise.

Well thank u 4 ur critique, i think as a piece 4 children it is suitable like a kabalevsky piece specially in it's elements of innovation. I think dis 2 b an intermediate masterpiece, neither 2 easy to play, neither 2 difficult! Gratsi!

I agree with descara and thepianoman, but I don't think I count - I don't like most of the modern music I hear...

I didn't like the broken chords, they sounded a bit predicted.
