the rising

Featured Replies

a piece hopefully well suited to Gladiator-ish, God of War-ish contexts or to be enjoyed in its own right.

the rising

I really like this. The overall sound is good. The opening, however, could use some tinkering with to make it more interesting. You almost lost my interest with it. I hear a lot of potential in your writing. Any chance you could compose a purely orchestral piece?

I'm glad you appreciated this piece. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen! I compose all kinds of music. lately I've been doing a lot more 'commercial' type stuff that I submit to various catalogues. But I can also compose more traditionally classical orchestral stuff, atonal work, jazz, rock... I try to cover pretty much all the bases. This piece actually follows very conventional scoring and could easily be realized for live orchestra.

take care!

Yes, I noticed. Which is why I had to ask.

Love this - i hope to build towards this! And Hans Zimmer is definitely a favourite for me! You've re-created his melodies well - maybe add some more layers for development purposes? Could i also recommend a piece worth listening to which your piece reminded me of - the soundtrack for Requiem For A Dream. Thanks, great composition.

Very nice sounds. What program do you use? I feel like it needs more drive or more "oomph," if you will, towards the end. (It IS called The Rising, after all, it should rise more!) Perhaps an accel. or some bigger orchestration would fix that. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Glad I came across your music. :)
