Can Finale perform ornaments such as turns and mordents? I have sibelius and it can do trills, but not turns ect

yes, the HumanPlayback feature recognizes all the traditional ornaments (which are all included in the default Articulations library). I don't know all the names, but I know there's the grupetto (sp), then the two quick ones (one goes up, one goes down) are those the mordent and turn?

An added bonus, if you use the Baroque style in HumanPlayback, Finale will automatically rolll all harpsichord chords

oh, and you can specify whether a trill will be on the natural, the sharp or the flat as well, it will playback.

if you are at school presently, try to get the Academic pricing for Finale, it saves you a bundle.

go to their website and there is a link somewhere there for academic procing... I think it reduces the cost by almost half (it's been a while for me, so I'm not sure).

oh, and finale with humanplayback also has a nice feature - if you use the trills with sharps, flats, and naturals it automatically recognizes those as well.

Check ebay and the academic superstore for even lower prices. You can get it in the $200-$230 range.
