beautifulnoise
Hi, I've played piano for apprx. 7 years and am an intermediate/early advanced pianist. A friend of mine wants me to play piano at her older sister's wedding - any recommendations for pieces I should be able to master by mid-April? Thanks, Micah
sabiansoldier
Well there are tons to choose from, here are the ones I find always work well for weddings, well known, accessible, and not too difficult to master in a short space of time. Ag Críost An Síol - Seán Ó Riada Arrival of the Queen of Sheba- G.F Handel Canon in D - Pachelbell Gabriels Oboe (From The Mission) - Ennio Morricone Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - J. S.Bach Panis Angelicus C. Franck Sarabande from Partitia in A - J.S. Bach Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Eva Cassidy Hope that helps!
TheWannabeChopin
I am sort of in the same position! I have a big book of wedding pieces, but I think I am going to the second movement of Chopin's second Piano Concerto. Anyway you just choose some easy listening pieces, people don't really listen at weddings. I would play (as well as above) Bach-Air from Orchestral Suite No.3 a.k.a "On a G String" Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire Prelude No.1 from WTC Handel Water Music Suite "Handel's Largo." from Xerxes. Schumann Traumeri and Von Fremden Landern und Menschen from Scenes of Childhood Schubert Impromptu in A flat Saint Saens The Swan
