Vengeance Void Main Theme

A piece that I wrote for my music theory/composition class. The theme comes from music that I'm making for an online game, and I wanted to expand upon it because I liked it so much. (At the 2nd to last measure, the quarter note in the strings should actually be a slide upwards, couldn't find how to notate it in Sibelius)

Welcome to Young Composers! I like what you have here. You're using the double bass to double the cello line for the most part and that works well (often a composer will consider the cello the actual bass and the double bass will double bassoon or cello). The opening cello line looks like you're going for divisi, but from 5 on it looks like you never use cello divisi again. Make sure to mark exactly what you want ("div." when you have split parts in one voice and "a 2" when two voices play in unison after the divisi section). Your trumpets are quite low for most of the piece, but I think it works since you bring them up for the climax. Can you repost the audio? I can't seem to access that. Thanks for posting!

Indeed, I meant to divisi the cello part in beginning, but I wanted the top voice to be a solo, and I wasn't sure if there is any specific way of notating that, or is it simply just something like "solo(top)"? I showed the trumpet part to a friend of mine who plays the trumpet, and he too noticed how low the part is. Is it unreasonably low? I know it's within the trumpets range, but is it too difficult? I play violin, and so I'm most familiar with strings (thus why I am familiar with the cello/bass doubling). Also I posted an audio file. Hope it shows up!

A few recommendations based on just the score as your audio file isn't working properly. Your string opening is nice - but I wonder if you gave thought to perhaps having the first violins double the long tones in the bass and celli. As a string player, you are probably aware that when the violins and violas are playing in that same register the result is very strong. It's a nice effect to use BUT... it can get old fast. Flute measure 32 needs a doubling - it will have problems there with all those brass instruments. I like the variation in measure 33 in the string pattern. Melodic, yet.. harmonic at the same time - very lovely. Measure 45, strings in parallel motion.. is that what you want? Those are just a few things based on the score. Would love to hear this to get an idea of the melody etc..

Got the audio fixed, and uploaded a newer with a better ending.

A side note, I heard part of this played by a small ensemble and it sounded INCREDIBLE! I hope I have a chance to get it performed by an orchestra.

Great overall, but there are some spotty parts.

Overall, I really enjoyed listening to it.
