March 12, 201016 yr Heard on youtube, since the file here does not work. I like the piece and, as amateur singer, would greatly appreciate to see the score, and if you have a text for it!
March 12, 201016 yr Author here it is, updated in original post. http://www.scribd.com/doc/28271880/Adagio
March 17, 201016 yr I confirm that I like the piece a lot and it's a pity you don't have a lyrics. With the score I see that you don't tell the singers when to breathe, sometimes the phrases seem too long. It can be done if each voice has several singers, but is it really necessary? Since you ask for six parts often in the score, you would need a large choir to do both things. As a bass singer, the D near the end is not for everyone (the typical lowest note is E) and you would have a hole in the harmony. A doubling with an octave D would be better, and would strengthen also the G-D fifth the end of the piece.
March 17, 201016 yr I'm sorry. just a technical question: what is EWQL symphonic choir? It sounds beautiful. Is it a composition software or hardware?

You are right for doubling D, I'll correct the score, well, the only breathing marks are fermata. I slightly change the choir orchestration: - first staff is soprano solo - second is alti-soprani - then classical tenors and basses
March 18, 201016 yr Author I'm sorry. just a technical question: what is EWQL symphonic choir? It sounds beautiful. Is it a composition software or hardware? EWQL Symphonic Choir is a software (see http://www.soundsonline.com/product.php?productid=EW-182 ) that basically process your midi output channels into "real" sounds. The result is quite good actually

March 23, 201016 yr The piece is quite beautiful. I am so jealous of your virtual sounds; I have been wanting to get those... The only suggestion I have, which is completely a matter of personal taste, is that you should take advantage more of the moment you create at mm. 16-17. The pause sets you up for a beautiful, tender moment, but you short change it by bringing the lower parts in on the same dynamic/chord at which they stopped. I feel like if you lowered the dynamic level, the tempo, and figured out a way to sweeten up the chord progression a little there, it would be a truly heart-stopping moment. It's really hard for me to explain what I'm hearing in my head. :P
March 23, 201016 yr The ending seems to drag on too much. I think that stopping at measure 42 would be sufficient enough, rather than singing the same chord (again) for another two measures. Maybe even measure 40 would be sufficient. But that's my opinion =P In the alto part, the range required is extreme for an alto's range. You could switch in some sopranos to sing these higher notes, but this would cause confusion (sometimes) among the sopranos requested to do this. A professional choir, with experienced singers, would be good for this piece. Yet, in other less-experienced groups (i.e. a high school choir), the required ranges, and the elongated sections (requiring more air) would make it difficult for these groups. Overall, it's a nice piece. Good job!
April 5, 201015 yr This piece is very beautiful. Please, do not change a thing. You don't even have to add text to it if you don't want to. It's beautiful either way. Message me when you finish your next piece! I'm love your music.
