I quite liked this! What strikes me most is your careful attention to voice-leading and harmony. You use good "correct" chord voicings with proper doublings and note distribution. Your variations use pretty standard devices and in this you do very well, but my ear longed for more harmonic variation. You could really move things along with extraneous chord progressions within the harmonic directions you have already set out. All this aside, it's a very very good work and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I'll have to agree with Max; your variations stay too much within a single harmonic framework. What can be varied in a theme and variations amounts to this:

• rythm
  
• melody and motive
  
• harmony
  
• tempo
  
• texture, mood
  
• idiomatic elements (such as the accompaniement)
  

In your four variations, you rather tamely vary the basic melody, with the same accomoanying elements, feel, tempo, &c. &c. There are a multitude of transformations the theme can undergo, and using different elements contributes to the interest of the piece. Four variations isn't a lot to work with, but I feel you have neglected many possibilities with this piece. There's nothing incorrect, but the overall effect is bland.
