Interesting piece, very fresh melodic development, I like the bits that go in thirds, reminds me a bit of Iron Maiden. The drums sound very boring, you could really vary the beat a little add some nice fills etc. And the loose-hi hat that is always on the upbeat is really annoying, and I can tell you straight off that no drummer is going to play that beat with the hi-hat on the upbeat like that. He will either play it both on the down and upbeat or he won't play it at all. If you have it both on the down and upbeat it will drive the song much better, but again, don't stay with the same beat for too long without any break-downs or fills. Also there is something with the sound quality of the drums themselves, they sound kind of muted, like they are coming from behind a wall or something. They guitars and the lead synth (i think its a synth, could be a bad guitar sample too) sound good, the intro is cool, you could just add a very explosive ending and it would be first class.
