Yes, it is short. It's supposed to be the middle movement of longer piece for a younger concert band. As far as extending it, part of me appreciates efficiency and brevity in composition, but part of me might also just be lazy and not too knowledgeable. I'm curious about your comments regarding the harmonic structure. It's supposed to be a little different, a little off and a little surprising, ie clouds moving. If you could be a little more specific about where and how it sounded forced, maybe even offer a possible "solution," I'd certainly appreciate it. And yes, it is for a concert band, so there will be several players per part. I'm using Finale notepad (because I am cheap), which allows for only so many staves. At any rate, thanks for the feedback.
