Romance for Violin, Cello & Orchestra

Featured Replies

Violin and cello play the leading role in this piece, although it cannot be seen as a concerto for an instrument but as being part of a musical speech. The main theme, introduced by the violin and then by the cello, appears along the piece with rhythmic and melodic variations. This piece is essentially written in the classical period format and style although the orchestration shows traces of the romantic period.

Beautiful piece! Really wonderful. I especially love the energy after the first accelerando.

What did you use to notate your work? The score could use some cleaning up. Don't forget that when you have split voices ties and slurs go above the top voice and below the bottom voice.

Very evocative... I think the only thing I could say about the orchestration is that the winds never play against the soloing strings without the string section itself playing. Otherwise, this is simply beautiful. :happytears:
