Girl in the Blue Dress

The first piece I wrote in college, about two years ago. Pretty stripped down form, really funky solo section. I really like the 10/4 vamp (2/4+4/4+4/4), I hope to use it in a later (and better) composition. Ignore my bad singing. — Score has only the chords, not the melody. Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

This is great! We hardly ever get vocal jazz on this site, so listening to your recording is refreshing. I love the jam starting at 3:03 and I can hear why you're proud of it. I really don't have any suggestions regarding the music. Your changes work but where this piece shines is in the different beats/grooves that you use within the frame of funk. You certainly kept my attention. However, it would be better if you could post a .pdf next time instead of a Finale file so everyone can view the lead sheet!
