The Pied Piper Overture

Featured Replies

This is the main theme for a musical that I am currently working on based on The Pied Piper of Hamelin legend. It has a minor feel w/ much chromaticism. The feel is dark and foreboding.

Very nice. It does have a dark ominous feel. Not much to say, I dont think...

Well, there was a discrepancy with the score... You had

Violins

Cello

DB

Brass Section

Percussion Section

Viola??

Maybe you had a reason for doing this, or maybe it was a mistake.... idk. Either way the viola SHOULD go between the Vlns and Cello.

Great job, thanks for sharing!

Yes, the score needs to be "re-arranged." I think I added the viola later and Finale adds it to the end of the score and I didn't correct it. Thanks

Cool. As I listen, it reminds a lot those themes of Ennio Morricone used for films like "The Fat Man and the little boy". And there´s a little bit that reminded me Danny Elfman in "Batman" and "Bettlegeuse". I'm not sure of what's that repetitive thing you've been told about. All the repeated motives were kind of natural to me for flow of the music, and certainly it uses an exemplary orchestration. Excellent work and thanks for inviting me to listen.
