Island Dance

Island Dance is a "continuation" of Carry Me Away, if you will. This is what happens while on the "tropical paradise"

Nice latin feel. I like chromatic bits in here. But I think it's too long, it doesn't really develop, it's pretty much the same chord prog over and over, and I lost interest after about 2 mins. You could definitely work on the production some more, but this has potential. I just think you need some stuff like a slow section, a few break-downs, some interesting side-themes etc. Make it a bit more "fun".

Good job.

Really, really awesome stuff here! Very interesting melody(ies) going on, the repetition within the piece mentioned by Phantom may very well serve to be a benefit were this used in a videogame!

Definitely sounds like something that would fit perfectly in the right video game. I could see it in something like Sonic maybe, or some outside adventure game. I know I'm thinking of some specific game, but I can't put my finger on which one :P

I agree with paquijote - the repetition works just fine for a video game setting, and probably is a plus, however at 245 you do lose my interest a bit. You have a cool idea, but I don't think you've executed it right. It doesn't groove with the rest of the piece. I think the problem is that on the one hand, it still has a similar sound to the rest of the song, but on the other hand it lacks the catchiness the rest of the piece has. I think I'd like to hear some of those drums you have at 350 maybe incorporated into this area. Overall, I think your goal for that weaker section should be to make it contrast a bit more, but at the same time fit in with the groove of the rest of the piece - I think those drums might be able to accomplish that. If not, I think something more on the lower end is what you need probably.

Anyways, after that short section, I like where you go. I think practically speaking, if you were thinking of this as something that could actually be used in a video game like it sounds it could be, I would make it so that it can loop easily.

Good stuff!
