June 16, 201016 yr Very dramatic piece; the opening reminds me of the piano concertos of the Romantic period. I love the sonorous chords here. There are nice contrasts between quiet (sparse) and loud (dense) sections that allow me to enjoy each in comparison to another. Overall form, however, I found slightly less easy to grasp, and I wonder if its shape could be improved by further delineating and constrasting certain larger segments of the music. I think it is that I recognize the repetition of smaller segments of the piece but have a harder time sensing a larger arc that I believe exists. For example, I noticed that much of the accompaniment consists of block chords or an alternating set of notes; one way to make larger groupings of materials might be to introduce more arpeggiation in one grouping than the others. (But then, I also wonder if this might be contrary to the style you wish to convey...) Change of keys might be another method, especially in a piece as extended as this. This is an impressive piece! I really enjoyed listening to it.

Was pretty fun to listen to, although the themes and material jumps around a bit and is a tad hard to follow. The return of the opening theme I found satisfying. I found it to be enjoyable hones:
December 8, 201015 yr A very interesting composition there's modern harmony in it but at the same time melodic line and the use of dissonances adds a specific keenness to the way it sounds and brings me to some fairy-tale country) in general, i listened to it at a breath. the stratification of the chords gives the whole piece a very modern sounding. Nice.
