Young Composers' Ragnarok Competition

If you record your MIDI track-by-track into Audio, you should be able to get as many as instruments as you want (no longer being limited by the 16-channels and such).

So hows everybody's work coming along so far? I haven't had much time to write yet, but I have all my ideas in order.

I can be a judge if you need one (might be a bit diffrent from basket ball reffing but still :( )

Yeh, I'm assuming that anyone can freely join - just make sure you get your piece done by the deadline.

Are we allowed to do maybe a suite of pieces? I've got a french overture coming along, and I was thinking I might as well add a few quick movements to complete the suite. Is that allowed? :P

Hey Letehn.... I wanted to ask you how will the judges be deciding the winner? Is everyone going to pick a favorite? or maybe point based (ex. best 3 points, second 2, third best 1...)?

Yea, thats what I was thinking: we should have a list of specific criteria that the pieces will be judged on.

I will post a list of criteria when the submission date aproaches. What i can tell you now is that this will be judged based on quality, not quantity (A 5:00 long composition will be judged the same way as a 1:00 composition).

PS: But.. If the piece is shorter than 1:00, you'll get a penalty. :ninja:
