Streched Out On The Grass

This is a song I wrote for a baritone friend of mine.. actually was written a whole step down, but I haven't been able to get a baritone to perform it... so this is the soprano version!Text is from Los Novios by Octavio Paz, though I'm sure if you know choral music enough, you know I took it from A Boy and A Girl by Eric Whitacre. So here we gooooo....!Matt Arnerich, pianoJennifer Thuman, voiceoh also a quick note, I've since changed a couple rhythms.. on the word "grass" in the first 2 instances, the notes are now both quarter notes, instead of 8th, which made for a sorta awkward phrase. Any changes are reflected in the score, but not the recording!Another quick note about the score which I think might come up... For the big piano section in the middle, I would love to be able to put that on 3 staves, so the left hand staff doesn't have to have all the crazy bass then treble shifts, but unfortunately my version of sibelius doesn't do that, or anyway i can't figure out how!Ah! One last thing.. is the score really blurry/pixely for others? I have this problem on my computer, but when I send it to others, it is perfectly clear. But since I uploaded it onto here, it seems to download in the same pixely way it appears (but doesn't print) from my computer!Streched Out On The Grass

Jennifer, I listened to the piece and I've fallen in love with it. Beautiful interpretation and setting!!! I am a classically trained Lyric Baritone and if you are look to get a re cording of the original Baritone version, I would be more than happy to record it for you. PM me and let me, ok?

Oh, also, you have a gorgeous voice.....I've fallen in love with that too!!! ;)

If you are interest, I am currently working with several moderators and members of the Young Composers Forum on virtual choir recording/premiere of a choral setting of "There Will Be Rest" by Sara Teasdale. I would love it, if you would sing in it. Your voice would add a lovely color, emotion, and warmth to the choir. Please do let me know.

So sorry for the delayed response, I don't log on as often as I should!

I can't seem to figure out how to private message anyone... but yes to both counts, and thanks so much for he nice things you've said about the piece and my voice! :D

Maybe you could e-mail me, or pm me, since I can't figure it out :-P I'm not sure if the virtual choir thing is already passed or not!
