Fugue in F major

Featured Replies

Okay so I'm not a professional on fugues, but I think you did a decent job here creating one. The only thing I didn't really care for was the driving force of the fugue... you have quarter, quarter, eighth notes, eighth notes...1, 2, 3 & 4 &. I honestly lost interest a bit.

But good work!

Hi, I liked it, but there are some strange dissonances especially in the first page.

Greetings :)

Wow really nice ,beautiful fugue, the theme is great with the descending sequence,i have not composed counterpoint in a while but listening to this is pumping fugual themes in my brain!! you got to love fugues!Hope you gonna post some more!anyway good job!

Your fugue it's very interesting, It contains something special, the ancient atmosphere, very nice person too! and the full development of the fugue

Compliments!

I would add that the subject is very nice because it is rhythmically insistent, and was built well countersubject

thank you guys! I appreciate your comments:)

Reminded me a little fugue from Haendel. Hm !!. Not a bad work, when you can compare it to one of Haendel's. ha ha ha !!!.

Very nice job, man.

Without trying to get too technical, your bass and soprano voice share the same V-I octave, last measure... that said, it's a nice, clean fugue, nothing more, nothing less. I couldn't say much more than that, honestly.

@ParanoidFreak I was aware of the parallel octaves in the end but I wanted to keep the imitation between the two higher voices.

It's OK, Noone's going to chastise you for that :santa:

I like it a lot, the majestic and at the same time merciless quarter note drive. The chromatic descend in 62-64 is nice too.
