Spinning Rocks

Featured Replies

This is a remake of an older piece I started but never finished called Spinning Rocks. The original is quiet a bit different. Its more of a rock song. This is an acoustic take on it. You can find the original on my web site if you're interested in comparing.I'm not real happy with the production on this. The mixing and recording is a little sloppy in some spots, but I guess it didn't come out too bad. If the mood strikes me I may go through and clean this up a little better some day.

Really nice...I don't have much to say(maybe it's too early in the morning lol)

Keep up the good work!

hey jonah, very nice stuff there!

i like the acoustic kinda rocky/intro metal song vibe to it, sounds totally american also.

i wonder how your songs sound if you can do this, are you more rock-acoustic or metal.

Thanks, The J! This song started out as a rock piece when I originally recorded it many years ago. I never finished that version though. Its on my website if you wanna compare. I think a lot of my music would be more heavy rock or metal if I had a band to jam with, but since its just me and my computer I often go a more minimalist route with my songs.

I liked this a lot! The recording sounded very nice to me especially if you recorded this at home, although there were a few muddy spots they weren't all that bad. They didn't take away from the music at least! Also, I liked the airy, relaxed sort of feeling the recording has, I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but I hope you get what I mean. Was that a theremin at the beginning, unless I'm mistaken?

jonah, you should definitely get yourself a band then, if you're not sure of starting your own material just join a group with similar style.

Thank you both so much! I've never heard of a theremin so I looked it up on Youtube.I wish I had one of those! It looks awesome. The sound at the beginning is a patch I made with Reason's Thor synth. It does sound very similar though! I'd love to jam with a band some day. Its something I've always wanted to do. It wouldn't work well with my current schedule though. I have three kids and a full time job (stocking shelves at walmart, which I absolutely freakin loathe). Planning out recording sessions wouldn't work well for me as I never know when I'll get spare time. Maybe some day I'll get the opportunity though. Again, thank you both for your encouraging words!
