Organ Postlude: Opening of the Gates and Book

This was written for the finale of my recently passed recital (and the reason I've been off for quite a bit.) Follows is what I had written in the program Notes:Finally, The Opening of the Gates and Book refers to a grand, majestic moment foretold in certain religious scriptures. Many Christians believe in a time in which every living soul will be brought to one place to be given an ultimate judgment. While the recital celebrates religious faith and ideologies, the goal is not to terrorize but to look at the concept a different way. In my eyes, whether the incident is viewed with joy or horror one cannot deny the majesty of such a concept. The gathering of every living body alone is a thought to be reckoned with, but the added anticipation of meeting God only heightens the situation! The music has folksy melodies to mimic men, ethereal music of the angels in praising angel-song, and the powerful, awesome, and fearful music of God.Unfortunately, I do not have a listing of the stops used. This was performed (and stops collaborated by) Mr. Alex Benford.

What an interesting piece. I do like the shifting tonality in it and changes of meter. However, there is something about it I don't like. It's doesn't have the feel of actually meeting God. This is God we're speaking about. We don't have enough words in the english languages to describe his greatness. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good piece, however there is just something missing.

Nice piece. I love the harmonic language as well. I hear some nice French influences?

Halfway I though the structure was a bit unclear, like you are exposing too much themes, but in the end it got all more clear.

I hope you are going to clean the score one day. Suggest a stop listing, or at least write a suggestion what is to be played on what manual.
