Disoriented Lullaby

Featured Replies

I have written this suite as a lament to American society. The repetition (minimalist style) is indicative of John Adams, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, and Philip Glass. I would be glad to hear any comments. I can not post the score right now because I am finishing the last movement.

Disoriented Lullaby

i like the piano background and the clear minimalistic style.

but i think the viola (viola ????) pattern isnt attractive enough. why?? i dont know!! maybe too mechanical or maybe the bad midi sound...

when it enters the flute i found it more confused than lengthy (but i like).

however a nice listening :phones:

wow!! I love this piece... i really love it... thank you :-)

I'm a fan of Reich. ;) Welcome to YC! :D

I do like your sonorities quite a bit.

And I like the implications of phase music with your shifting accents in the piano. But it's not consistently minimalist, IMO. The chord changes are just that: chord changes. In general (including the sections with other voices), I don't hear a lot of shifting. I hear mostly ideas that are repeated for a long time that shift a little bit sometimes. The moving accents are cool, but I don't sense a pattern to them, and to me that's really important in a piece like this.
