August 21, 200520 yr These are some recordings of me playing. Tell me what you think! These were recorded on varying dates under various conditions (and pianos!) Rachmaninoff - Prelude in D, op.23 no.4 Ravel - Valses nobles et sentimentales Ricketson - Three Waltzes
August 21, 200520 yr Oh man... OK. How to say this without going over-the-top... Alright, what the hell...I listened to the Rachmaninov, and ya made me cry. And that's a really good thing in my book. ;) I'll listen to the others when I think I can stand it. You're a very fine pianist. I find it heartening, and not a little miraculous, to hear such refined yet not overwrought technique, such mature emotion...yet such elegant, almost exquisite restraint - all in one very talented young musician. It gives an older, often cynical person like me, heartsick at the world, hope for the future. That was a little over the top, but I don't care. :) Thanks for sharing that.
August 21, 200520 yr Author Thanks, J. Lee. That's really nice to hear from another person. Although I'm afraid you may be a bit disappointed in the other two - I recording them a while back and they aren't quite up to the standard of the Rachmaninoff.
