Rockbound Bayou

I used some snes instruments, as well as mandolin, tapeworm vst and a pentatonic scale. Near the end I started going by ear, so it probably deviates from the scale some ^^;;

Man, I think you're more ahead your software, try getting something else, it makes all your pieces sounds like an old video game soundtrack, this one does have more innovative sounds indeed, but still within the "known" for me, the mandolin and other timbres helped a lot, the scales, some were good, other a bit confusing for me, a the percussion, looks like a n unusual mix of styles.

Here you can find a lot of Free VSTs, thinking in this piece I recommend you the "DSK Asian DreamZ" and "DSK Indian DreamZ".

thanks for the link, SYS! I'm definitely going to try some of those VSTs out

I downloaded a few of the VSTs, but they seem to be a type of file ( .dll ) that is incompatible with my program... I use Synthfont. Is it possible to convert them to .sf2 ?

aaa, VST Plugins and Soundfonts are different things.

VST are always .dll files that you put/install into your VST folder, (C:\Program Files\vstplugins) where all the DAW software explorer and find those plugins that later you can call for.

That "Synthfont" program name sounds to me like play/opens soundfont files only, check in help F1 if it's VST compatible.

DAWs: FL Studio, Cubase, Sonar, ProTools, Reason, Sibelius, Finale, Acid, all those have VST compatibility (and many more)

DAW = Digital Audio Workstation

You're welcome, right now I have posted on Electronic the silly theme I made for the YC Awards :P I used the Erhu in Asian Dreams I think.... haha check it, can sound very funny...
