Theme "Leila"

Featured Replies

Well, the theme "Leila" is for a very lovely & nice character. I love strings & harp. I just repeat the main melody in different scales (locrian & dorian) & forms (retrogade, etc.). I don't like the strings .. my LASS is on strike and I use another library :/ But I think you can imagine the main mood. That's the most important thing for me - the character Leila.

Heh, I was half expecting to hear Eric Claptons famous riff on this one (It's spelled differently, I know).

The piece is pretty good, nice and soothing, and I imagine that is the ambiance you were going for. Some of the motives on harp sounded a bit disjointed at times, and I had trouble keeping up, but thats not a big problem since you're not trying to make a statement with it. Choir sounded nice at the end, all in all, a pretty little piece and I think it will serve its purpose.

First thing that catches my attention is that the basses stick out more than the violins, which isn't a bad thing if that's what you want. Normally though the melody should be more prominent. I feel like everything could have been "closer" sounding; not louder, but just less ambient and "far off".

Another thing is that to me it sounds somewhat random. I've finished listening to it, but I can't really remember what happened afterwards, and while listening to it it seemed to meander aimlessly, not really going anywhere. However once again if this is the mood you are trying for than there's nothing wrong with that.

Like Phantom said though all in all it is a very nice piece.

Thx for reply. For sure, "closer" sounding would be great. But then the strings sound terrible ^^ It's not my normal setup because of a system crash :/ "aimlessly, not really going anywhere." That is the phase of life regarding Leila.
