A Flute, Harpsichord and a Xylophone

I really don't know what this is. I just got an idea and went with it. I composed pretty much non stop to get it to the point is at now.

A Flute, Harpsichord and a Xylophone

I couldnt get to the musicpage by using the link, took me right back to the homepage.

Ah well, I can access it through your own profile page though.

This is quite interesting instrument combination, and the piece sounds very much a like culture-/folkmovie music meets pop song meets minimal music. Especially that last thing is worth mentioning, from 1:12 in the music file onwards I think you have really something going there. This has a nice 'vibe' and sounds very inviting, very easy and enjoyable to listen to. Why not expand on this and make it even more minimal? Then you could at times include other chords (like the ones you used in the beginning of the piece)... Keeping things relatively simple is very often a good thing! :)

This is lovely, and quite hypnotic. What made you choose this combination? Also, just a thought - at first I wasn't quite convinced by the way the rhythm stops in bars/ms 4, 8, 12, 16 etc. then I wondered whether it might work better if the bottom G and the EBE on the xylophone were short e.g. a crotchet rather than a dotted minim (sorry for British terminology if you're from across the pond).

The quartal harmonies are nice, restulting in an interesting exotic feel. Maybe I am not into minimal music but it sounded too repetitive for me. The endless I VII is too cliche for me. If you could expand and develop the initial idea, i think this could be great :D
