Okay, so I'm working on this serious piece called "Away", and I'm really liking how it's going. The only problem is that my melody sounds too familiar, and I'm worried that it might not be completely original. So, rather than put it out there as complete and be accused of plagiarism, I'd like to ask anyone if I've accidentally plagiarized someone else's stuff.

Also, if the melody is, in fact, original, then I'd also like some input as to quality and suggestions before I "finalize" it.

Seriously, worry less; develop your theme more; and imply, rather than state, the rhythm as you develop it.
