March 5, 201115 yr There is some interesting material here - what bothered me, though, was how you used the string quartet. There seems to be a lot of three-texture work: a "groove" in the bass, static chords in one or two instruments and the melody above that. I would suggest trying to break that, and have instruments take on different roles - sometimes letting an instrument drop out to give the ear a break. This was my main problem with the piece, otherwise I found the themes interesting and the material good.
March 5, 201115 yr Author Yeah I can see what mean now you mention it, the texture does remain the same pretty much throughout the piece. I'll take another look at it and see where I could drop an instrument. Thanks
