solo guitar dorian counterpoint

Nice piece. A few remarks. It is not strictly dorian, because of all the C#'s. You can keep them if you like, but when you would consider change some/all of them to C's you'll see it will sound a bit more medieval. I love that Dorian sound!

Some remarks about the beginning, some of these apply for later on too.

- Ms 1 beat 3, I mis a G, the chord sound a bit empty. But I love ms 5, so I'd keep it :) (see later)

- Ms 2 beat 1. I would not double the 3rd of the G chord. Especially when you keep the C from the midvoice of the previous measure I'd go to a D, to fill up the missing note of the triad; other wise a G is the apt choice.

- Ms 2 has a (sortof) 5th paralel in sopr and bass. Although I really like this I doubt whether GaP would agree with this.

- Ms 2 has a strong dominant feel, and Ms3 continues this way. I thought this was slightly odd. I did not like it. The D in beat 3 struck me as a kind of I64 chord, which sounded improperly used.

- Ms 3, the e in the bass is a note to make the part more interesing, ok, but sounded a bit unsure.

- You have in ms 3 both C natural and C sharp. I loved the natural, and I would ditch the sharp. But this is a matter of taste ;)

- Ms5 ff Great inversion of alt and soprano. I love the high C. And really should go to a high D. Like I proposed concerning ms 2

So. This was a bunch remarks concering the begining. Say so if you need more. Hope this has been helpful.

Keep up!
