Orchestral for japanese anime girl

Featured Replies

Hi,

this is a try to put modern cultural elements from asia (for me anime, manga and this stuff is an important cultural sign of our time wich influences could grow) into a smal orchestral. Used Koto and orf instruments in this little piece. Written for a little japanese girl in my neighborhood. She is about 6 years old :)

hope you like it.

The...hentai...girl? Is this refering to the six-year-old? I hope not o.O

I like the piece. Good use of the correct scales. You've got the right feel of the music for the setting. I enjoyed it.

Thanks for Feedback, the name i changed (its name was hentai till i learned that hentai is the name of the erotic comics only, didnt know that before) but data name is still from that time. So it s a child song and has nothing to do with eroticism in some japanese comics. Its also inspired of some anime from internet made by artists for the film matrix. If someone has the dvd there is one anime in wich children plays in a place where the matrix is broken. They play with the gravity and other strange things there. Wonderfull this little anime made.

Cool! i love hentai girls... i mean little girls... i mean your piece! :o

I loved the use of the oriental instruments, as well as the music box! :D 'Twas a neat idea to add it. you create a magical sound and im sure it would work excellent in an anime movie. The clarinet was great, but plays all the same scales throughout the piece, maybe you should try switching for another instrument... so that it doesn't get old. everything else fits the atmosphere! Good job! :D

I enjoy the mix as well.

The middle portion of this song doesn't strike me as much of a melody but a rolling theme. I don't know if this was your intent or not.

Personally I kind of felt like I was "drowning" in all the quick notes as played by the vocals and flutes. Notation programs never do fast notes very well.

I enjoy the first portion of the song best probably because of its more simple approach. The later portions seem kind of frantic for a six-year-old.

I like your instrumental selection. Are you an american composer....? If not you seem to know a lot about asian music. I would have to agree that the middle section doesn't have a definitive melody but It's always something to strive for. That is how you learn in composition is by composing songs and sure some of them will be bad but then you know what to avoid and what to use as well. Hope this helped.
