Woohoo! A battle theme!

Featured Replies

Yep, I wrote a battle theme for a video game me and my sister are making. I need more melodic ideas, all it follows right now is a simple ABA form. I'm working on it, but just let me know what you think!

I quite like this, it's much better than 99.9% of my attempts in a similar direction, and I worked on a proper game soundtrack! :P

My favourite bit is probably the section that begins at 0:32; it's the cross-rhythms. :D This is the sort of piece that needs the touch of EDIROL or Synful Orchestra.

Nice rythem and melody. I too like the new part at :32, although it may not quite belong with the rest of the theme as I doubt in a battle you'll recieve those "breathers".

I assume this song is meant to loop.

Very nice. I wish I could write a battle theme. Maybe I'll take a stab at it later today.

I know almost nothing about video game soundtracks, but I like this theme a lot! Very exciting, there's always something going on and it's a melody that would replay itself in my head :).

YES!!

This is hilarious!

It's sooo cheesy. I can picture like some little anthropomorphized rodent shooting things with lasers!

And the midi sounds add to this.

It's like pop meets orchestral meets heavy metal meets rock meets Andrew Lloyd Webber meets Starfox.

I love it.

Awesome stuff. The midi doesn't really do it justice, I'd like to hear it with more realistic samples, that would be quite enjoyable. As a battle theme it is good, yes, but it would be even sweeter behind an opening FMV or something, with that more mellow part at :32 that people have referred to. If you've ever watched the first FMV in Chrono Cross, this reminds me of that, but more energetic. And comparing anyone to Chrono Cross is a big big compliment.

Good job! I like your use of drums, the way you create dramatic moments and even some of the softer parts seem to fit the idea of a battle theme.

I think this would work nice in a video game.

It sounds pretty cool...

I dunno why, but for me, it doesn't sound much like a battle theme...but maybe it's the crappy laptop i'm on...

I'll have to listen to it again when I get home, but for know it sounds more like the end of a battle...kind of orchestral rockish. Oh, and the beginning theme sounds like some spy movie.
