This was a piece I wrote when I first heard the music of John Adams. I was so intrigued by his “Gates” idea that I decided to incorporate it into my style of composition. It is called “FLOOD" because during my compositional process, the notes on the page were so squished together that they were flooding the entire page with blotchy black things. It took me a while to resize and adjust the score so that it was a bit easier to follow. As you may notice, the score still has some minor issues involving adjustment and glitches. But, it’s nothing that a good pianist can’t look past!- c.r.
