December 30, 201114 yr Hello! I am geokoo, composer from Greece! . I ve just upload my first composition "arrhythmic dance" .... more coming soon! www.geokoo.com
December 30, 201114 yr Nice website and the piece you have playing on the website is strangely simple but with the well chosen distortions to the melody (in a way an acknowledgement of the microtonal inflections found in the melodies of traditional Greek music) add a nice layer of complexity that is just enough - something I find I like best in some Schubert. But do you have additional songs with more complex forms or harmonic plans? It is good to have a nice mix of straightforward and more complex piecesto showcase some variety to your compositions.

Thanks for your reply and for spending time to hear my music! Before i answer i have to apologize for my terrible english! I hav to admit that you have real good ear! Few people even greeks understand the microtonal and the folk style ornaments (rhythmic phrasing) in a piece played with a distorted electric guitar! "Nanou in F" is a piece (lullaby) from a suite called "11 pictures" original written for string quartet. I wasn't able to record it with a string quartet so I decide to transcribe into a suite for electric guitar and bass. answers : 1)complex forms: Are difficult to record with natural instruments and it takes time to make a playable transcription for musicians that might be available at a moment. I am planing to transcribe some of my big scale works for a mixed orchestra (played from all the musicians that i know). As you can understand I have a problem (I hate ) midi players . 2) Harmonic plans: Harmony is a sensitive issue for me. For some years I tried everything to forget harmony ( I didn't ) and take influences from non typical western music as greek,Balkan, pre war blues and of course counterpoint. My goal is to find a new harmonic language ... Anyway I will upload some pieces of more compicated harmonies sometime. to be honest most of those works are back from the conservatory-studying period !
