Hello, and welcome to YC.

I hope to be able to listen to your works through these links. Also feel free to provide feedback of your own on our compositions (available all over this site), so that you'll be more likely to get our attention as well.

Enjoy your stay :D ...

Hi Hendric,

A few thoughts from me... hope it's the kind of feedback you're looking for:

Battle of the Vikings: Great compositional concepts, good mixing but the sounds don't do it justice. It would sound a lot better with higher quality samples.

Glory of Life: The intro reminded me of Transformers or something Hans Zimmer might score.

The Last Fight: Maybe you could try to get a bit more variation in your sound - e.g. your strings sound the same all the way through the track. It'd be nice to have a bit more contrast.

Revoir: Again, your strings sound the same. Maybe you could try thinking about writing separate string parts rather than in chordal progressions. The piano entry at 1'39" was a nice contrast.

Overall - i think you're doing a great job. Keep at it, keep creating and experimenting. ;-)

Best wishes,

Jon

Hello!

Great music you have them- you seem to have a knack for writing cool rhythmic animations! Thought it would be nice to have more dynamics though, especially in Revoir at the beginning(make the lower strings softer, and then have some cresc?)..

You remind me abit of myself, I love classical and film music too. :P

Have fun composing!

Hi, I'm 12 and I also love composing music. To help you improve, I wrote a review of Battle of the Vikings:

---

At the beginning of the song, there were just two instruments playing together. They blended nicely, but one of them was rather harsh and when you made it play on its own for a second or two it sounded somewhat annoying.

After the intro was over, I like how it developed into the next section of the song. Your use of reverse cymbals was great for building to the melody, and it made this part of the song sound amazing. However, after the build up, there was hardly any climax. This was disappointing, because the song could have been so much more epic if there had have been one.

Just by listening to it, I could tell that you had tried to build a climax. If the instruments playing around that time had been just a little bit louder, and you had have had a pad of some kind playing as well, then this song would be nothing short of awesome.

Overall, the song was pretty good. There were some points where the layering was too low, and others where the velocity of the drums was inconsistent, but all in all the song was quite enjoyable to listen to. I wish you luck for the future, and I hope you continue to improve at composition!
