Hello people person!

I'm Kaylee Jakubowski, and am in the process of setting up a label for my compositions by the name JakubowskiMusic. (my FB page here focuses mostly on women and LGBT people in the music, film and video game industry, as well as nifty little indie stories I find).  I just popped on after realising that I live on a sad, little island of music where I don't actually talk to other composers or get a gist of how things are done by other people, so I wanted to change that, expand my network to actually include other composers, and jump in on some discussions!  I didn't see a Rules sticky, so I hope some shameless self-promotion isn't in bad taste here.

I'm 22, a trans girl (call me "she"), and I'm actually going to college for Statistics, but I'm sticking true to music composition as my first love.  I focus mostly on writing music for indie films and video games, and I recently just finished pre-production music for a film my friend is producing called Izzie Midnight and I'm in line to write the score in post-production as well.  I've also written the score for another film from the same film-maker called Try Number Three, and have written a few scores for video game and film projects for my friends.

In the mid-term, I'm working on getting a desktop system dedicated to both FL Studio/Cubase/something similar, Sibelius or Finale and Pro Tools or ACID (not sure which).  I hope to be able to get to meet all you other composers here and share some techniques and stories and all that good stuff.

welcome. the best way to gain respect here is to submit good music to this site, and to post insightful reviews. all the best.

Seconded!  Review a few things, post a thing, review a few things, post a thing... composers karma...

Welcome!
