Double concerto for flute, harp, percussion and strings

Recommended Posts

Composed back in autumn 2000 this is my first post-graduate large scale piece. Scored for flute, harp, three percussionists and large string orchestra it is probably my most Romantic music ever. The structure comes across like a theme with variations, creating a sort-of multiple movement piece with similar melodic material.

Wow! I like this work but I could not detect thematic material nor variations as much as orchestral colors, gestures and moods. I am probably a lunkhead when it comes to such chromatic music, but I gave it only one listen. I think you have a gifted ear for balance of the orchestra.
