August 15, 200620 yr Here is a symphonic piece I composed about a year ago. I don't know whether it qualifies as a modest tone poem or as a movie score. I didn't have any precise program in mind, but I associated it (vaguely) with an airborne battle, hence the title. I used Sibelius which cannot play pizzicato and horn at the same time, which is quite distressing--on this version, I opted for having the pizzicato on. Comments are welcome. August 21, 200620 yr hmmm... I'm surprised no one has commented on this piece. I really like the mood and style - I think it would make good video game or film music. I like the theme introduced at around :50 - there are some chords in the sustained lines around 1:28 that I would consider changing. Really like the brass over the pulsating strings at 3:18 - perhaps the transition right before that should be cleaned up a bit though - just seems a bit muddled leading into that section, which is such a wonderful section. Really love the ending - even though it drags on a bit.

I guess you're right about the chord changes, as well as the transition into the tutti of the midsection. And, oh yes, I have this quasi-neurotic compulsion to drag the coda on and on and on.... :shifty: Thanks again! Anyone else?

Heck, I would like to see the score to learn a few things myself.Regardless, the piece is very nicely constructed. Much of your orchestral colors seem on the mark.
