September 27, 20187 yr Can anybody recommend me jazz harmony book for beginners? I am trained classical musician, i've mastered classical harmony at the university so it does not have to be ,,very'' basic with learning the music theory and stuff. Ihave listed a couple and i found Jazz harmony book by Andy Jaffe, from first impressions looks ok not too much complicated. Any info about this book or some similiar suggestions? August 6, 20196 yr Jazz Improvisation Vol 1 Tonal And Rhythmic Principles by John Mehegan is by far the best ... there are 4 volumes John taught at Juilliard, and provides an exceptional formal structure, progressions for many dozens of standards, and the insights of years of playing with the best
