Fugue in F-sharp minor No.4

Featured Replies

It hasย been a blank period for my composing during bothย past half months, but finally I could get again into composing and finished today this fugue in F-sharp minor (which by the way seems to beย my favorite key now). It's myย first one in whichย the subject and countersubject are in actual invertible counterpoint (at least, I think) with me deliberately intending so. Hope it gets to be relatively decent.

Also, in case anyone reading this would like to help me a little, I have recently downloaded harpsichord-exclusiveย soundfont and would need some advice discerning among this new one and the previous one I already had, in terms of whichย one is more accurate to the sound of the harpsichord. So I have provided another MP3 file of this fugue with the "New Soundfont" tag to contrast, for you to leave your opinion in regards to which one sounds better.ย Thanks in advance!

Nice fugue, to my ears the (New Soundfont) sounds better.

Bravo very well written!.ย

Just my personal opinion the third entry feels a bit rushed, not sure why perhaps the key was not certainly decided. however the ideas are developed well and there is good contrapuntal fluency throughout. The ending would really serve to have a tierce di picardie (basically an F sharp major chord to add extra finality.

Overall very good looking forward to the next piece

Bach would give a like
