Fantasy for String Quartet performed by The Tippett

Here is the link to my string quartet that I wrote in February, performed wonderfully by the Tippett Quartet.

Do like, subscribe and comment what you think...! I'd love to hear it 🙂

Reminded me of Janáček's string quartets a whole lot. That's a good thing tho.

On the other hand it's a little too busy. There's a lot of ideas packed too densely and only very few moments where you use solos. I guess that's why you called it a fantasy, but I think if you "unpacked" this into something more long form where you had time to work each idea out it'd be pretty good. Even 10 minutes I think would be better than just 5 in this case.

Great performance tho!

I'm no expert on string quartet repertoire but this is a great addition!  I like the nearly constant tempo fluctuations that really make your music a living, breathing organism.  I guess that's what makes it so fantasy-like.  I especially like the trance-like accelerando you start at around 2:10.  Even though there are more strident sections with dissonance I am glad that overall you seem to have stayed tonal throughout this.  I like the cello's stack of 5ths near the end.  As far as expanding this into a longer movement - I don't think you should change anything.  Nice job!
