Sibelius help (percussion)

Hello all.

My question is, on Sibelius 4, how do I have a percussion staff and assign instruments to sound on it with text above it?

Gong

-----|----------

----O----------

----------------

----------------

Like that. And then next line, a clap. I'm sure I've seen this done, but I just can't figure it out.

Any help appreciated...

From what I understand, it has to be in the dictionary, and you have to use either technique or expression, I forget which. I'll look it up and get back to you.

to change what instrument plays click create>other>staff type change>percussion

Click on the instrument you want to use

then click on the part in the score you want that instrument to start playing

To put the text click create>text>other staff text>Drum set legend

click on the first note/rest afterthe staff type change and type the instrument
