Supernova

Featured Replies

Could you do "Supernova 2," Sebastian?

This piece was just the first of many Supernova works that you could write. The first of these is "Supernova: The Travelers" where humanity discovers a Supernova, the death of a star. But what about the beautiful nebula that forms from the radiation? What about the life of the star that goes Supernova, the life it possibly supported for millions of years? Let's not forget how catastrophic a Supernova would be to us... we'd all be dead.

I guess I just liked the concept so much, I want to hear more. I think there are so many different approaches, so many other musical languages you could use to express these ideas, and so much more you could do to make this piece a part of your mark on the world of music. It appears to be quite popular already. Normally I'd just say, "You were successful with this one, time to move on..." but in this case, I think the concept is worth holding onto and developing newer works out of as you progress with your career.

Just my thoughts. Great work!

I honestly thought about doing a related orchestral work... Because I just adore this Great Mechanism that is The Universe... Or Multiverse, to be more precise! :P Our Universe is the best symphony ever written, a model to every creation we concept!

I think, this is the reason I composed The Fundamental Forces of Our Universe, to approach the same Universe, but from a different perspective, a different scale...

And I do agree that there is so much more to a Supernova... At a first look it implies the known dictum: Destruction is a form of Creation... When I wrote it, I didn't had the knowledge I have now about the phenomena... It would be interesting to make a second Supernova! :D

Thank you for your time!

Sebastian

It sounds like a space combat simulator/space strategy game from the 1990's. Doesn't really convey a "supernova" besides any other typical explosion, like maybe a fleet entering an atmosphere, or a surprise attack on a colony, etc.

This is great music for a game like Sins of Solar Empire. Not so much for film. The new star trek had a great score however. This is much too cliche.

Oh by the way, it does however sound professional. So good work. But it's just an average incidental piece of music. It's not bad, but not amazing.
