Romanza in F

Featured Replies

This is an unfinished work, I post this because I have no inspiration for what is to come after the climax part around second 40. Any suggestions / feedback would be highly regarded and appreciated.

Wow this is really beautiful!  It sounds like you performed this but with the strings in the background it makes me question that assumption.  I think the point at which this ends is a ripe place for a repetition of the melody you just presented in some kind of varied way.  I don't really think that you've really reached a climax yet imo.  That's just how I hear it though - how you continue is up to you.  Thanks for sharing!

I agree, really beautiful! The rising bass line when it comes in around 30s is amazing. I look forward to hearing the finished piece. I've replayed it a few times now and I get the impression you were interrupted by someone opening that squeaky door.

Peter, thank you so much for your kind words. First of all, I’m extremely sorry for not replying earlier. I however took your advice serious to the highest degree and have almost finished the piece.

I will be uploading it soon, I hope that ( even though I replied so late ) you would be kind enough to give it a listen when I post it.

Thanks again

That sounds really good. Why don't you go on with the variations and, for example, in the first one change sharply to a scherzo character and also in the minor. Variations also usually help you to expand, to find new means of expression, etc.

Maybe you don't have the inspiration to continue this theme in the way you originally planned, but in creativity it is absolutely normal and even, in its own way, fascinating. You never know what to expect from your own brain in this or that tact, and every time you try to make it into a coherent piece.

Wow this is really nice! Really like the romantic style and the adventurous modulations! Really sounds like it's out of a film! I think though, what it could develop to perhaps is a nice winds solo!

I feel the piece wants to break out into a mid-section waltz like theme ... light and warm.
