Bacchante, for violin and piano

Featured Replies

Hello all. It's been a difficult couple of years, so I haven't really been on the forum at all. However, I felt that it might be nice to give a bit of an update on myself and some of the music that I have written in that time. Since I left, I have experienced a variety of personal trials and I have about quadrupled my portfolio to an opus number of 80. I have earned my Master's degree and I am composing regularly. I am unsure how frequently I will post, but I do plan on adding some of my music to the pile.

This piece is for violin and piano -- though originally composed for Wagner tuba and piano (the original), and it has an alternate alto saxophone/piano score. The work is based on Jean Metzinger's painting "La Danse (Bacchante)" and it replicates the subject's trance-like appearance.

It's a really wonderful piece. I like how effortless and natural it sounds, even though the score is so clean and precise and clearly has been given a lot of thought. I've been browsing your posts, and would like to listen to the Klee suite, but unfortunately the youtube video is not available anymore. Help?

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your interest in those pieces, though I have since removed that Youtube video. However, you are more than welcome to listen to the pieces here.
