  • Aled Edwards changed the title to Prelude in B flat major

I don't remember what the original title of this was when I first listened to it - was it just "In the Night"?  I think that title might have been more appropriate since the piece ends in E major which is just about as far from Bb major as you could get.  Usually a piece that's titled "... in Bb major" is expected to both start and end in that key which is why the practice of naming pieces that way ended during the romantic era as starting and ending pieces in the same key became less important instead opting to focus on the piece's emotional appeal.  Which I do have to say that that is something this piece has plenty of - plenty emotional appeal and heart.  It certainly sounds relaxing just like you intended but there's also plenty of emotional depth and substance.  I love the unexpected way you extend your quite simple and yet beautiful phrases (0:54).  You seem to suspend time with a simple ostinato and then pick right up where you left off a few iterations later.  Although the way you go about developing the piece definitely seems more like a pop song than a concert piece which the new title seems to suggest.  Very enjoyable - thanks for sharing!
