Well, have you chosen the instruments you want to use for your future choral piece?

Tell us , if you will , do you have any training in music theory and composition?

There are many dimensions and styles this pieces could take you to, such as humoresque, dark, serious, mystic and jazz(comes to my mind first)(neo)romantic, atonal, respectively.

well in any case this is what I would come up with:

I personally would choose 'serial music'-dark for the setting of this poem, because I like atonal music and the poem seems to inspire me that. However, neo-romantisim would do.

Take the first line:Running down a dark road

Usually, composers represent the idea of 'running down' with descending 16th notes with some dark , dissonat chord or minor, on top (dark). That's the beggining should I stop?

My second aproach would be Jazz -humoresque

I would start with a theme first , and a accompaniment, representing the initial feeling of pleasure;music-sound as the motive of such feeling. Then espand your theme carfully and thinking of light-heavy, as to represent the movement from a "simple bugging me" to "loose control" (here I would accel. the piece) that's the beggining should I stop?

This is just my personal taste.

good energy for you lalala.

greetings

lalala... there's no law that tells you to put a chorus. Try to be 'inovative' and write the text you want to write, you don't have to write what all te others are writing since the majority of the writers have few talent... strive for the summit and shape the worlds around you instead of letting the world shaping you.

javileru, I don't think lalala is writing a choral piece. I believe lalala is trying to write lyrics (the chorus of a popular song.)

Maybe you should sit down and think of what this song is truly about. I would go so far as to maybe write down word associations of paper, and small phrases that come to mind. Then, I think that the choices will become clearer as it becomes clearer to you what the song is about.

If this is true, let it be then.
