a piece inspired by baroque music

I attended a baroque music concert last week, it has inspired me a great deal, i don't think i have ever been this inspired.

Hey, I liked this a lot. The whole song really reflects a lot of tension. I'm not an expert on classical musical styles so if my suggestion goes against Baroque style, please ignore it.

The tremendous tension the entire song builds should be climatic. Near the end you have some tense lines that seem to go up a minor second and come back down and up again. However, the entire thing decresecendos, which feels very anti-climactic. I think those lines should crescendo and then end with, perhaps a some fast-paced lines into a ritardando that results in the release of the built tension, so the listener gets that closure. However, if this were part of a suite and was leading into another movement that provided that closure, then I think it would be acceptable to end it the way it is.

By the way, I'm a big fan of suspension and I love how you used it to highten the transitions.

Hmmm... the entire piece seems VERY dissonant as a whole... I'm curious as to why you decided to use chromaticism so much. For being baroque inspired, it doesn't seem to match the typical feel of a baroque string quartet very much. That's not to say it isn't a good piece, just that it doesn't fit the genre it says it is part of.

A perfectly lovely piece of music... I mean, even Bark couldn't do better, thinkin 'bout his Brandyburger Bar concertos. I love the V7a-VIIIa cadence at the end, not to mention the Quint de Picardy. There were places you could have introduced a few chromatics, however.
