Intermezzo in Ab major

Not sure what I was thinking with this, it almost seems more 18th century style which I normally don't like as much for solo piano. At the same time I find writing for solo piano considerably "easier" than for a full ensemble, since I wrote this in 2 days. Some inspiration for this piece also came from "hometown" themes in RPGs and such. Does this seem too fixated on one theme or not harmonically adventurous? 

Any chords that aren't possible synchronously should be arpeggiated.

     YES- you could use more variety in theme and particularly in the left hand accompaniment.  

   If you are going to write something, I'd recommend spending time simply developing the basic theme/themes you plan to use prior to composing piece fully.

  That way you can avoid surprising yourself.  Generally two distinct themes--in different keys--at a minimum will keep it fresh for the listener.

 Some of your intervals are too wide for a NORMAL human hand--not even Rachmaninoff could play some sections!--and his hands were huge!  Stick to octave or 9ths maybe.

  To my ears you've safely avoided the 18th century!

I think if you meant certain chords that are obviously too wide for any human hand to be arpeggiated, you could have included the wavy lines in the score.  I don't know what software you are using to realize this rendition, but it might also have performed those arpeggiations and it would give you a better idea of how the piece would sound if played by a human being.  I think there are many places that are impossible/too quick for arpeggiations of the kinds you imagine to be executed.

Now about the music - I think the melody is very accessible and even a bit pop-music influenced!  It is very catchy and heartwarming and sweet and I remember it easily after hearing the piece.  Thanks for sharing!
