If you play banjo what would you tell your beginner self to do to be a better banjo player?

Im not a Banjo player, but one advice I would give a new player to any instrument, would be to listen to as music as you can for that instrument, and to find at least 3 musician who you love and try to learn as many songs as you can by that player!

Kudos to that, I've tried to learn music by that method back in the day.

Practice every day, even if it's 5 minutes.

Find a tune you want to learn and practice that until you've got it decent enough where others didn't mind hearing it, then pick the next tune.
